It is now time to apply for the 2018-19 academic scholarships. Each year the Valley of Peoria Scottish Rite administrates scholarships for around 50 recipients. Over the last 14 years ICOD has paid out over $5 million dollars. Grand Lodge of A.F. & A. M. Illinois Scholarship -- To qualify, applicants must have a father or grandfather who is an Illinois Master Mason. There is no residency restriction for the applicant. The applicant must have a “B” average. Applicant will receive the scholarship for one year only but may re-apply for additional years.
Illinois Masonic Healthcare Scholarship -- To qualify, applicants must plan to pursue a career in the health care field.
Leon M. Abbott Scottish Rite Scholarship -Named for Leon M. Abbott, Sovereign Grand Commander from 1921 to 1932, the Abbott Scholarship Program provides financial support for the continuing undergraduate and graduate education of Scottish Rite Masons, young men and women from Scottish Rite families, and Masonic-related youth groups.
Eligibility: Those meeting any of the following criteria are eligible to apply for the 2018 Abbott Scholarship program for undergraduate studies: A Scottish Rite Mason of the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction A student directly related (bloodline or by legal means) to a Scottish Rite Mason in the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction, a Scottish Rite Mason, or a member of a youth organization sponsored by the Masonic fraternity in the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction who is: A high school senior, a currently accepted at an accredited trade school who has attained a minimum grade point average of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale. A high school senior, or undergraduate, or graduate student currently enrolled at an accredited college or university.
Applicants should print the form, complete it, and mail it to the appropriate Valley secretary. Applicants should submit their application to the Valley of the sponsor of the applicant.
Abbott Scholarship allocations are distributed to all Deputies. Please note that we will issue checks in whole dollar amounts only. Subsequently when determining the allocation, one individual may get a bit more than another and that is perfectly acceptable.
All submissions by Scholarship chairmen must be made electronically. No paper submissions will be accepted. All submissions must be submitted to Headquarters no later than June 30. - Abbott Scholarship Application for 2018 Louis L. Williams Memorial Scholarship -- To qualify, applicants must reside in the State of Illinois, be a relative of a Scottish Rite Mason, and attend Illinois Wesleyan University.
Robert B. Perkins Memorial Scholarship -- To qualify, applicants must reside in the State of Illinois and be a relative of a Scottish Rite Mason.
Sherwood & Evelyn Kresin Memorial Scholarship -- To qualify, applicants must be enrolled in an accredited college or university at either the undergraduate or graduate level, but must reside in Illinois. COMBINED APPLICATION The Combined Scholarship Application can be used to apply for previous six scholarships listed, The application for the A. Colville Wilson Scholarship must be submitted separately.
A. Colville Wilson Scholarship For Graduate Work -- To qualify, applicants must be graduate students in the health care field relating to children’s medicine and must reside in the State of Illinois. SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
Your Application may only be submitted to one Scottish Rite Valley. At the discretion of the scholarship committee and the chairman, scholarships may be renewed. Over 450 scholarships are awarded state-wide on an annual basis (including renewals). As renewals may be granted, there may not be openings in certain scholarship in any given year.
